Holiday Fashion: Statement-Making Outfits From Your Fave Celebs' Go-To Designers

Make like your celeb style icons and Cosmo cover girls, and be inspired by the holiday collections of their fave designers for formal, cocktail, and party wear.

If you pay closer attention to the designers we normally tap to dress our Cosmo cover girls and "who" your fave celebs are wearing when we spot them in parties and industry events, you'll notice that three names pop up more often than others: Eric Delos Santos, Sassa Jimenez, and Jerome Salaya Ang. These three powerhouse designers create red carpet-worthy gowns, cocktail dresses, and party frocks for who's who in showbiz, yes. But, that doesn't mean you can't channel their headturning designs.

It's fortunate that Delos Santos, Jimenez, and Salaya Ang got together for an amazing runway show at Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2011. The top designers pulled out all stops and brought us collections that are elegant, classic, and most importantly, totally wearable. Whether or not your up for purchasing your own piece from these designers' holiday collections, this gallery will serve as your style guide for when you want to come up with holiday outfits inspired by their fashion genius.

Delos Santos created a sophisticated oriental holiday collection fit for our fabulously tropical climate. You'll see pastel-colored dresses in slim silhouettes, cinched at the waist with thick obis, as well as blazers that fab working gals would love. These power pieces contrasted wonderfully with his breezy dresses in vivid shades of tangerine, sapphire, fuchsia, amethyst, and emerald--cheerful hues fit for the season.

Want to stand out at your next Christmas party? Take a page out of Salaya Ang’s style book. His collection caught the eye of the fashion crowd, not just because of the disfigured prosthetics the models wore on the runway, but more importantly for the statement-making avant-garde pieces that are almost out of this world. There is an abundance of bold cuts and patterned color gradients seen on the pieces, which, while they evoke dreamlike appeal, are actually wearable when paired with the right shoes and accessories (read: tone them down so you don't go over the top).

Jimenez, meanwhile, created the most fun and feminine collection that's perfect for fun, fearless party girls. You'll find flapper dresses, classic shifts, and airy silhouettes in the most vibrant shades of red, orange, yellow, and blue. There are also a few beaded pieces in nudes and soft hues. They make great day-to-night pieces, too. The collection’s crowning glory were the adorable bubble skirts--bold, girly, and dramatic, they caught everyone's attention on the runway--and they could do the same for you when you wear them to your parties!
