Good news, CGs! Exposed shoulders aren’t going anywhere. Based on the designer outfits that showed at Spring 2017 Fashion Week, the trend is still going to be pretty relevant by next summer. But, we did notice something new about the off-shoulder look, and it’s this:
Unlike the off-shoulder tops and dresses we’ve come to know and love, this fresh update bares just one side of your neckline! Self Portrait showed ruffled, deconstructed styles that look as if you buttoned up your top the wrong way:
NY-based label Tome also delivered tops worn askew, as if one side just happened to slip down in that moment.
But that just adds to the effortless look of it all, don’t you think?
'80s kids will definitely be reminded of Flashdance with this J. Crew sweater.
While this bright Rosie Assoulin number is pretty much our idea of the perfect summer dress!
Some of our favorite social media influencers have naturally gotten a head start on the new season trend, and proven there are different ways to style this look.
Blue and white stripes put together in an ultra-feminine way, for instance…
… Or worn haphazardly with low-slung jogging pants for that cool girl flare.
A white shirt and denim jeans make for a timeless pairing.
As do a knotted top and a black pencil skirt!
Get cozy in a roomy Flashdance-style sweater and pleated midi skirt.
Or put a twist to office dressing with this spin on a classic. The possibilities are endless!
