2016 was tough for everyone, so it’s pretty apt that for 2017, Pantone has chosen a particular shade it describes as "symbolic of new beginnings."

Meet Greenery, the Color of the Year for 2017. A vivid and energizing yellow-green, Greenery is a color that is prevalent in nature. It encourages us to find balance in our lives and to immerse ourselves more in our surroundings, especially in a day and age where most people rely heavily on social media and technology.

Leatrice Eisenman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, explains:

"Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalize, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another, and a larger purpose."
