Dealing with frizzy and brittle tresses is a never-ending battle. Sometimes, it feels like you've tried every product in the market, all promising to grant you stronger locks, but they yield little to no results. If you're at your wit's end, let us turn your attention to a more ~natural~ route. Enter: DIY hair treatments. Celebrity hairstylist Mark Rosales shared three of his personal favorites, all of which promise to give you healthier and softer locks. Keep on scrolling to know more:

  1. Egg Hair Mask

Eggs may be your staple breakfast choice, but did you know that they're good for your tresses, too? They are packed with nutrients and minerals such as vitamin A, E, and biotin that help in strengthening and moisturizing your strands. It also stimulates hair growth.

For this mask, you will only need two eggs. According to Mark, if you have a normal scalp, you can use mix both egg whites and yolks. If you have an oily scalp, just take the egg whites. Lastly, if you have a dry scalp, separate the egg whites and only get the yolks.

After your normal shower routine, section your clean, damp locks into four parts. Use a hair coloring brush to apply your chosen egg mixture from the roots to ends. Leave it on for 20 minutes, then rinse it off with cold water. You'll end up with softer, smoother tresses! Mark, however, advised to only do this treatment once a month.

  2. Green Tea Hair Rinse

If you think green tea is only limited to being a drink and a skincare favorite, you'll be delighted to know that it's good for your tresses, too! According to Mark, its antioxidant properties make your locks radiant and bouncy. Green tea helps prevent hair loss and dandruff, too.

In a bowl, put two to three cups of hot water and soak three green tea bags in it. Allow it to cool down for a few minutes. Then, use the tea water as a final rinse for your hair after your shampoo and conditioner. Gently massage your scalp for a few minutes to get the circulation going, then rinse it off with water. Mark recommends repeating this process every one to two weeks to boost the volume and shine of your locks.

  3. Apple Cider Vinegar Treatment

Apple cider vinegar has another use other than being the partner of bentonite clay masks—it can be used on your hair, too! Having a weekly ACV rinse will really help to deeply cleanse and detangle your strands.

For the mixture, you will need one cup of water and four tablespoons of ACV. Pour the concoction into a spray bottle and give it a good shake. Then, after your bath, towel-dry your hair and spritz the treatment from roots to ends. Leave it on for a few minutes before rinsing off. According to Mark, doing this one to two times a week will help soothe your scalp and leave your hair bouncy and soft.
