While the 80 beauty queens competing during the Miss Universe pageant finale, which is on December 21, Monday, would (most likely) not be caught dead making their grand entrance on the main stage sans pageant makeup—and Vaseline for a shiny smile!—that doesn't necessarily mean they aren't prepared to go bare-faced on other occasions.
To promote the Miss Universe #ConfidentlyBeautiful hashtag and, you know, a greater sense of body positivity than the swimsuit round might otherwise represent, a number of this year's contestants have shared makeup-free selfies on Twitter.
Now, sure, this is hardly scandalous because they're all STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL to begin with but it's also fascinating to juxtapose their fresh faces with their pageant glamour shots. Here we go:
Miss Philippines, Pia Wurtzbach
Miss Peru, Laura Spoya
Miss Ghana, Hilda Frimpong
Miss Australia, Monika Radulovic
Miss Dominican Republic, Clarissa Molina
Miss South Africa, Refilwe Mthimunye
Miss Indonesia, Anindya Putri
Miss Ireland, Joanna Cooper
Miss Argentina, Claudia Barrioneuvo
Miss Haiti, Lisa Drouillard
Miss Ecuador, Francesca Cipriani
Miss Bahamas, Toria Nichole
and bonus: the reigning Miss Universe, Paulina Vega, also got in on the trend.
