So you've heard of the BB Cream, the CC Cream, and even the DD Cream (Read about their differences here!). Well, now there's such a thing as a ZZ Cream or the Zit Zapper Cream—which is a silicone-free foundation for those with acne-prone skin. It's genius, really.
According to Jacqe Yuengtian Gutierrez, co-owner of Happy Skin Cosmetics, acne is the number one skin problem in the Philippines. "Everyone who wakes up with a zit just wants it to go away. We do everything in our power to treat [pimples] and hide them," adds co-owner Rissa Mananquil-Trillo.
Because here's the thing about zits: They come out of nowhere, and when they do, we tend to cover them up with a LOT of makeup products. But what we don't know is that the more we try to cover our pimples, the more they get aggravated.
What's good about the ZZ Cream is that it doesn't contain silicone, which can clog pores and cause pimples. Bonus: The cream, unlike most foundations and concealers, doesn't go on thick, and sticks to your skin easily. Oh, and did we mention it dries to a powder matte finish?
Makeup artist Joyce De Dios-Ignacio says the best way to apply foundation is by using your fingers. "Place a few dots of the foundation on your forehead, cheeks, chin, and nose—just enough to cover the areas of your face. Using the tips of your fingers, blend the foundation in a circular motion. The heat will warm up the pigment, and make it easier for you to diminish the look of lines, pores, and flaws," she says.
