From BB creams to sheet masks, Korean beauty trends have been the driving force behind the majority of recent must-have beauty products and technologies. I was curious about what to expect next, so I chatted with Sarah Lee and Christine Chang, the co-founders of Glow Recipe (a highly curated Korean beauty e-commerce site), about the coolest trends coming up next.
1. Splash Masks
Splash masks are the latest mask craze from Korea, except they're not really masks at all. Instead, a splash mask is more like a fruity-smelling, syrupy toner. Splash a capful of the product onto your face while you're in the shower, leave it on for 15 seconds, and then rinse (or splash!) it off with water. In that amount of time, the mask penetrates your skin, re-texturizes it, and leaves it smooth and hydrated so you look fresh-faced AF.
2. Aqua Peels
When you do an at-home peel, your skin can often get red and irritated, but that's not what goes down when you do an aqua peel. These peels rely on alpha and beta hydroxy acids (AHAs and BHAs) to clear away blackheads and oily residue, remove pore-clogging dead skin cells, and infuse your skin with botanical extracts. The result? Glowy skin thats clear and hydrated.
K-beauty used to be all about the 10-step skin care routine, but what's trending now is streamlined skin care—because who actually has time to put on that many things?! These next-gen products are packed with a variety of good-for-you skin ingredients in one jar. #SkinGoals.
