Mika Salamanca Got Her Tattoos Removed—And Fans Had Mixed Reactions

Getting a tattoo is a big deal—but deciding to remove it? Now that's an even bigger one. It's our September 2025 cover star, Mika Salamanca's biggest decision as of late: Getting her tattoos removed.

"This is hard for me kasi, I love my tattoos, and all of them have meanings. Before ko sila ipalagay, talagang pinag-isipan ko," she said in a recently uploaded video from The Aivee Clinic.

During our cover shoot for her September 2025 Cosmo cover, Mika had been open about the meanings of her tattoos. She even told us how she got the leaf tattoos on her and would put flowers on them at a certain point in her life, so it would look like they bloomed.

As we talked about her tattoos that day, she already admitted to having them removed for her acting career. And true enough, she did—but it's not in any way an indication that she doesn't love having her tattoos.

It was actually to ease the challenge of covering it up every time she's filming or doing brand events. "I love tattoos, I don't think titigil ako ever magpa-tattoo. It's just siguro, pause lang ngayon. I think in the future, siguro pagka nag-decide na akong mag-focus na lang sa music. But for now, removal muna," Mika declared.

This year has been a year of so many blessings for the Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition Big Winner. She's booked with her first-ever(!) Metro Manila Film Festival film Call Me Mother with Vice Ganda and Nadine Lustre, and also an upcoming TV series, The Secrets of Hotel 88, with her fellow PBB ex-housemates.

Truly, Mika's reaping the results of her efforts over the years. Perhaps getting her tattoos removed is just one of the many sacrifices she's willing to make to continuously achieve more.

While her tattoo removal received mixed reactions from the Internet, her followers remained steadfast in supporting her decision.

"The fact that mika is removing some of her tattoos says so much about her dedication to her craft. this girl's commitment is on another level," one fan posted on Threads.

Others expressed how proud they were of Mika, saying, "Your dedication to your craft is so admirable Mika 💜 Keep shining our Beautiful Star 💜"

While there were some who thought it was a waste to lose some of her tattoos. "Why nman? I love her tats. That's her and her personality. Sayang nman. 😔" Another commented, "But that's her identity! I love that about her"
