You Can Totally Skip Washing Your Face In The Morning

Plus, more tips on how to get ready faster in the a.m.

Is your beauty routine making you late for work or school? Maybe it’s time to alter it for your fast-paced lifestyle. Here, a few tips to cut down your morning beauty routine:

1. Skip washing your face in the morning. Ditch this step entirely and reach for your toner or micellar water instead. “The more you wash your face, the drier it becomes.” But of course, it follows that you should have a solid PM nighttime routine, too," says Dr. Kaycee Reyes M.D., D.C.D, M.S.c, of Luminisce Skin. After cleansing your face, continue with your serum, eye cream, moisturizer, and then sunblock. Never ever skip sunblock.

2. Put your hair up. To save time on doing your hair in the morning, apply some dry shampoo onto your locks before going to sleep. Then, tie it up in a loose bun using a soft hair tie. When you wake up in the morning, shake out your hair and you’ll be left with a head of touchable, wavy locks.

3. Pack your kikay kit wisely. Fill your kit with products that you'll only need during the day. Go for basic makeup essentials (we made a video to help!) which are enough to take you from the office to the club.

Time saved: 10 minutes.

4. Plan your outfits. There is absolutely nothing wrong with planning what outfits to wear for the week. Have a clear idea of what you want to wear day-to-day and prep your clothes before hitting the sack. This will save you from having another time-consuming I Have Nothing To Wear Because I Hate All My Clothes episode.

5. Use an in-shower moisturizer. Multitaskers are the answer to all your needs, and you can start with in-shower moisturizers—which are basically lotions you can use while taking a bath.

6. Use cream cosmetics. Because using your fingers to apply them will work just as well as using brushes. Get a lip and cheek color that you can use every day.
