Chito Miranda and Neri Naig
The plan: Parokya Ni Edgar front man Chito Miranda tricked girlfriend Neri Naig to “star” in a new music video. They even had a full camera crew to film the whole thing.
What happened: After the director yelled "action!", Neri was surprised to see a giant projector screen showing the words “Ako na yata ang pinakaswerteng lalake sa buong Cavite” accompanied by The Temper Trap’s “Sweet Disposition,” and that’s when she knew what was about to happen.
Our favorite part: Seeing Chito Miranda in a whole new different light. The usually macho and kenkoy singer cried buckets and buckets of tears before he got down on one knee. #ThatsLuv
Rio Dela Cruz and Nicole Wuthrich
The plan: Coach Rio Dela Cruz made Nicole ride a jeep inside UP Diliman, not knowing that several of the people inside were hired by Rio to film the whole proposal. A few minutes later, Nicole's favorite band Up Dharma Down boarded the jeep.
What happened: The jeepney stopped in front of The Oblation in UP and Up Dharma Down serenaded the couple to “Tadhana.” OF COURSE SHE SAID YES.
Our favorite part: The effort to get Up Dharma Down, obviously. And to have them sing “Tadhana” to you? A plus!
JC Intal and Bianca Gonzalez
The plan: Right before Bianca flew out to London to study, JC arranged a huge proposal plan at the airport.
What happened: As Bianca walked through the airport, random people handed her roses. When she reached the check-in counter, she was given a banner that said “Bianca, please say yes!” (and more roses came). JC then walked in and got down on one knee.
Our favorite part: JC also left notes that were passed on to Bianca throughout her long-haul flight. Some of the messages were “Thank you for saying yes my love” and “Let's plan your dream wedding when you get back, sweetheart. I love you.”
John Prats and Isabel Oli
The plan: Staying true to his dancer roots, John opted to do a flash mob proposal. He also chose to propose in Eastwood, where he and Isabel love to go on dates.
What happened: Isabel showed up at Eastwood and was surprised to see the giant LED screen show a clip of John talking to her. Jason DeRulo’s “Will You Marry Me” was played and the flash mob started, led by John. After the song, John got popped the question and Isabel said yes.
Our favorite part: John Prats explaining how he finally decided to stick to this plan, after deliberating and consulting with a bunch of the most important people in his and Isabel’s lives. How sweet!
Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes
The plan: Propose to Marian on her self-titled show on national TV. NBD, really.
What happened: Dingdong started to recall a recent trip to Macau with Marian and his family. They then started to show a clip of the couple inside a butterfly dome. Dingdong asked the clip to be paused and then went on to say “May isa akong importanteng bagay na di nagawa noon—di ko nasabi dahil sobrang overwhelmed ako pero allow me to do it right this time.” And we all know what happened next.
Our favorite part: The newly-engaged couple dancing to Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida” at the end. <3
Carmina Villaroel and Zoren Legaspi
The plan: Carmina thought she and her family were doing an endorsement shoot and interview with her home network. Zoren planned to propose and get married all on the same day, so he invited guests and even picked out Carmina’s wedding gown made by designer Paul Cabral.
What happened: Well, a lot. Drama, a flash mob, cherry blossom trees, lots of dancing, lots of speeches, a proposal, and an exchange of vows.
Our favorite part: Probably Carmina looking at the mirror and going “I’m so pretty!” while Zoren was staging a fake fight with one of the staff members. Just kidding. Or not. But with a proposal as grand as this one, it’s so hard to pick just one!
