It's been four years since Lea Salonga's book Playlist: A Celebration of 35 Years was published, but its pages have only recently made the rounds online.
You see, a "love letter" was penned by Lea's former leading man and good friend Aga Muhlach. But what makes this note so special (and heartbreaking, *cries*) is that Aga admits Lea is "the one that got away."
Aga opens his letter with, "Lea is the one that got away. And she never knew." OMGGG.
Aga goes on recounting how much Lea changed his life (from acting professionally on set to finding the passion in his craft) when they first got paired in 1992 in Bakit Labis Kitang Mahal and again in 1995 for Sana Maulit Muli.
"She never knew how much I loved her. It was a lifetime ago, I was a young man on fire with passion, as all young men of a certain age are. I wooed fair ladies, and dreamed of shaping the world." Aga continues, "Lea is the one that got away. And she never knew. So now she knows. We are older and wiser now, we have gone our own ways, we are no longer the same. But the fire has not ebbed. Rather it has grown deeper, stronger, quieter, more enduring. I love her still, but perhaps because she got away, I have her as a friend now, and so I will always have her."
*sighs*

And even if they've both run off with the loves of their lives and have made beautiful families, it's no doubt we're all still waiting for that third film of theirs. As they both said before, sana maulit muli.
