Anne Curtis Spills What Went Down Behind Her Raved-About Pillow Fight Scene With Carlo Aquino

Not to be dramatic, but the Philippine adaptation of It's Okay To Not Be Okay has us seated every time a new episode airs—and Anne Curtis is definitely one of the reasons why we can't stop watching it!

For most of the Internet, the localized It's Okay to Not Be Okay is hitting all the right notes. From its storytelling and how deeply it connects with the Filipino audience, to the way it flawlessly executes scenes inspired by the original K-drama, the show is at the top of its game.

One of the recent scenes that's been talked about for days now is Anne and Carlo Aquino's pillow fight scene. It was directly adapted from the Korean piece. On the sidelines of the Preview Ball 2025, Anne lets us in on how they worked together for that specific scene.

"Carlo was so, so shy to hit me," Anne told Cosmo. "You know, it's awkward kasi kailangan niya akong tamaan talaga nang malakas. And he's like, 'Ano ba 'to?' And I'm like, 'Okay lang yan! Pull my hair and all of that.'"

She added, "I was telling him, just do it. Okay lang 'yan. So, I think na-achieve naman." And we're here to say: yes, they definitely did.

After the episode aired, people were posting how the remake did justice to the original work. "It means so much to us when you guys say na achieve," the actress said, brimming with gratitude for the fans.

ICYDK, Anne and Carlo's characters Mia and MatMat got into a fight over the ownership rights of a plushie named SatSat, LOL. The playful scuffle had them hitting each other and tearing apart the pillows—Patrick (Joshua Garcia) came in and stopped them.

The Filipino IONTBO team has been doing a great job with the show. It's introduced the story to a wider local audience without losing its very core. The proof's in how the show has been receiving rave reviews every week! "I'm so, so grateful to everyone who has been watching it," Anne expressed.

It's Okay To Not Be Okay PH is currently streaming on Netflix with 80 (!) episodes. Yeah, that's a lot—and Anne knows it. Nonetheless, she's felt the love and support from everyone, despite the huge number of episodes.

We're almost at the halfway mark of It's Okay To Not Be Okay PH. There'll still a lot happening soon in the story. So, for 2025, we're sure to stay tuned for Mia Hernandez.

"There's so much more. As cliché as it sounds, people have been saying it, papunta na tayo sa exciting part talaga. Because, you know, it all starts when MatMat and Patrick move [into] the mansion of Mia. So, there are so many more iconic scenes coming your way, and of course, the beautiful locations. So stay tuned," Anne told Cosmo with a wide smile.

During the Preview Ball, which also marked the Filipino fashion magazine's 30th anniversary, Anne was unveiled as their September cover star—bringing to life Maganda in a cover concept inspired by the creation myth, Malakas at Maganda.

And although there's no confirmed release year yet, Anne's also working on a film by Erik Matti, and has another one lined up with Jericho Rosales. And this is all while juggling brand deals and fangirling over her favorite Korean actors, LOL. 💖
