When Hello, Love, Goodbye became the highest-grossing Filipino film this week, lead actress Kathryn Bernardo penned a touching letter for boyfriend Daniel Padilla. She wrote on Instagram, “He was my support system, my rock, my strength. We were hundreds of miles away from each other, but not once did he make me feel alone. There were times I almost gave up—I felt exhausted, drained, and too lonely as I was too immersed in the character of Joy. It was one of the hardest things I’ve experienced both on and off cam. But this guy, he kept me going.”
Kath continued, “DJ, my love, you kept me going… I know how hard it was for you to let go of my hand, but despite that you still allowed me to fly. You know how scared I was being away from you, too, but you stayed strong for the both of us.”
It’s worth noting that to fully embrace the loneliness of her character Joy, an overseas Filipino worker, Kath was reportedly banned from speaking to Daniel.
Celebs couldn’t help feeling the love between the two. Anne Curtis commented, “Sooo sweet! It’s always the best feeling when two people who love each other support each other and allow each other to spread their wings and fly (sometimes without them by their side) and STILL be genuinely happy for them. That’s when you know you’ve found yourself a keeper. Kilig!!!! Congratulations again on the success of Hello, Love, Goodbye!”
You can bet Anne knows what she’s talking about. For her latest film Just A Stranger, she was away from Erwan Heussaff as she was in Portugal to shoot scenes with co-star Marco Gumabao. The movie’s steamy promotional photos may have gotten people judging Anne or making assumptions about Erwan’s reactions, but Erwan has set things straight. He commented on one of Anne’s posts, “Last I checked, I’m the husband and I know how I feel (which is completely fine, by the way, thanks for asking). So no need to throw around words like ‘disrespect’ or dictate what a person should or shouldn’t do after getting married. I’ve known my wife as an actress since day one and I have the utmost admiration for what she does.”
He added, “Most successful marriages I know are those where both parties kept their identities intact and grew as a couple. Also, let’s not be sexist, people—if this were a married [male] actor doing love scenes, no one would have an issue with it.”
Before people got carried away with their impressions on Just A Stranger’s promo pics on Anne’s Instagram, Erwan had already dropped a few hilarious comments. He joked to Anne, “We can adopt [Marco] if you want.”
