Barbie Forteza's 'Beauty Empire' Co-Stars Reveal What She's Really Like On Set

Yup, Barbie said it herself. "Very complex po ang character ni Noreen. Hindi po ako nagkakamali na most complex character ko, so far," she told Cosmopolitan Philippines in an interview.

Barbie describes her character's cunning motives in the show as something that comes from a place of love. "Kahit na parang she may come out as a vicious one, mad woman, ganyan; someone who would play tricks all the time, full of rage—I feel like it's all coming from a place of love. Kasi the only reason she's all that is because she wants to seek justice for the people she loves—her sister," Barbie said.

At first glance, Beauty Empire already has all the makings of a gripping drama—and Barbie knows just how intriguing her newest show is. One thing that made her say yes to the project is its theme of murder mystery. Add to that the fact that Noreen is such a layered character.

Beauty Empire also stars Ruffa Gutierrez, Kyline Alcantara, and Sam Concepcion, who joined us during the interview. When asked about their working dynamic, one of the major comments we heard from the cast was how caring and sweet Barbie is.

"Grabe siyang mag-alaga," Kyline straight-up told Cosmo. "As in, sobra. Naalala ko 'nung time na hindi ko kaya kumain. As in, pinipilit niya talaga ako. Tsaka may mga times, nagte-taping kami, laging may kape na agad sa table ko or laging may nag-aabot sa akin galing kay Barbie."

The same goes for all the cast, especially Sam. In the series, Sam plays Migoy, who has a love arc with Barbie's character. And so, working with Barbie meant building chemistry together. It was the first time that they'll be starring alongside each other in a teleserye, but Sam noted how easy and comfortable it was to be with Barbie onscreen. "Very light, very easy. It's been enjoyable working with Barbie," Sam said.

Ruffa also shared how much she's enjoyed working with the entire Beauty Empire cast. She proudly shared how the entire team brings their A-game on set. For her, everybody's driven, professional, and united by a shared passion for making the show the best it can be.

Ruffa declared, "I learned that everybody goes the extra mile. Walang diva sa kanila. Everyone's professional. Everyone cares for one another. They go out of their comfort zone to make sure that everyone's okay. Walang nagrereklamo kahit mahirap yung eksena, kahit paulit-ulit minsan yung take."
