Barbie Forteza has consistently portrayed strong, empowered female characters in her teleseryes. But beyond the screen, she carries the same spirit of empowerment into her real-life relationships—showing up for people, supporting them, and proving she’s every bit a girl's girl!

Kyline Alcantara Shares How Barbie Forteza Pushed Her To Show Up (Even When It’s Hard)

One of the people who can attest to this is her Beauty Empire co-star and Cosmopolitan Philippines April 2025 cover star, Kyline Alcantara. Since working together on the teleserye, Kyline has firsthand experience with Barbie's way of being there for others.

In an interview with entertainment journalist Nelson Canlas, Kyline revealed how Barbie has been one of her sources of strength.

"She [Barbie] made me realize that I need to prioritize myself... I need to love myself more," Kyline shared.

She added, "She knows naman na I love myself. You know, I have confidence. But si Barbie, mas pinupush niya yun. And I really appreciate that. Kasi minsan, sabi nga natin yung self-love or yung self-care, it doesn't happen overnight."

Kyline admitted that the past few months have been particularly challenging for her, and like anyone else, she struggled with prioritizing self-care. That's when Barbie stepped in and reminded her what it means to be supported by someone who genuinely cares.

"I would like to share na lang yung mga ginawa niya sa'kin. One random Tuesday, nung wala kami taping, around 4p.m., tumawag siya sa'kin, Mare, papunta na ako sa'yo, kakain tayo ha, kakain ka ngayon. Kasi may mga moments kasi na wala akong ganang kumain po," Kyline recalled, noting that Barbie made sure she didn't feel alone during a time when she was not really feeling herself.

Even when Kyline had nothing to give, Barbie still showed up with love and consistency: "Pumunta siya sa bahay, nanood kami ng movie, kumain kami, pinadala niya po ako ng pagkain, pinadala niya rin ako ng kape, of course, ganyan."

"At lagi yan, "Mare, san ka? Labas tayo." So, isa po talagang malaking parte si Barbie. She is such a blessing," Kyline added.
Indeed, with friends like Barbie, you can never go wrong with female friendships. In an industry often clouded by competition, it's refreshing to see a woman stand out by proving that empowering others is never about rivalry, but about encouraging them to show up for themselves, too.
