On April 3, 2019, Piolo Pascual hinted at a John Lloyd Cruz showbiz comeback on Instagram! Piolo's post featured the logo of a shawarma brand, with a male figure facing away from the camera. His caption said: "If that's you, I’m happy [because you're] my brother. Welcome to the family!"
Today, we got even more ~proof~ of the JLC comeback! Bea Alonzo, who worked with Lloydie in the films One More Chance (2007) and A Second Chance (2013), also posted on IG. Bea shared a video of a guy wearing a cap, who is again facing away from the camera. In the caption, she asked, "Poy, ikaw ba yan?" referring to JLC's iconic character in their movies.
John Lloyd took an indefinite leave of absence from showbiz in October 2017 and reports say that his girlfriend Ellen Adarna gave birth to their baby boy in June 2018. The latest update we had about the actor was that he joined a four-man art exhibit at the West Gallery In Quezon City, using his real name Idan Cruz.
In May 2018, Bea said that she really misses JLC: "He's such a brilliant actor. Actually, gustung-gusto ko na talaga siyang makatrabaho ulit. I miss working with him in a movie."
