Bela Padilla will star in the Korean-Filipino production titled Ultimate Oppa with Korean actor Kim Gun Woo. Korean agency Good People confirmed the casting of its talent, Kim, on February 15.
According to a report by Soompi, Ultimate Oppa is a romantic comedy following the story of Jay (Gun Woo), a manager of a Korean star, and Yana (Bela), an avid K-pop fanatic.
The cast and crew will film in South Korea and the Philippines to feature attractions in both locations.
The movie is a joint project of Viva Entertainment, Bela's agency, and Reality Entertainment. Both are firms based in the Philippines.
Hwang In Roo, who directed Princess Hours (2006) and Playful Kiss (2010), among other kilig Asianovelas, will be the producing director (PD) of Ultimate Oppa.
Kim Gun Woo debuted as martial artist Kim Tak Soo in Fight My Way (2017), which was aired on GMA (as Fight for My Way and dubbed in Tagalog) in 2018.
Bela Padilla, who's still in the afterglow of the success of On Vodka, Beers, and Regrets, hasn't spoken about her new upcoming project.
