It's been over two years since Big Bang's T.O.P. enlisted for military service in February 2017 as a police officer. Shortly thereafter, he was removed because of his drug conviction with marijuana. He was hospitalized after being found unconscious and soon he had to leave the K-pop group.
T.O.P. continued as a public service worker in January 2018, and yesterday, July 7, he met fans to thank them for their support after being discharged from military service.
In an Instagram post, an apologetic T.O.P. shared photos from the event and expressed his gratitude to fans, who continued to support him even after the drug scandal. His real name is Choi Seung-hyun.
"Even though I am not proud of myself, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all the fans who made time and efforts to share this moment with me. I will make sure to reflect on myself and repay the hurts and disappointments I caused to you. Again, thank you. Until I see you again. Love, T.O.P."
T.O.P. is the first among the Big Bang group members to complete his military service. G-Dragon and Taeyang are set to be discharged this 2019.
In March, former member Seungri left Big Bang and retired from the Korean entertainment industry after sparking controversy for a prostitution scandal, wherein he was reportedly providing escorts for foreign investors.
