Aww, Billie Eilish Was Justin Bieber's 'One Less Lonely Girl' At Coachella—And Hailey Bieber Helped Make It Happen

Published on Apr 20, 2026
During Weekend 2 of Coachella on April 18, Justin Bieber brought back his concert tradition of serenading a fan on stage for his 2009 hit song "One Less Lonely Girl" segment—and somehow, the girl he picked turned out to be none other than Billie Eilish. The same Billie who's been loudly (and proudly!) a Belieber since she was a kid.
But here's the part that makes the whole thing even softer: none of it would've happened without Hailey Bieber—the real-life wife of the 34-year-old Canadian star—who fully stepped into girl's girl mode.
In an IG Story shared by Claudia Sulewski (a.k.a. Billie's brother Finneas' girlfriend), Hailey and Billie were seen vibing side by side in the crowd, arms around each other, singing along like it was just another concert night. Then, midway through the song, Hailey was seen smiling, hyping her up, and nudging Billie toward the barricade and onto the stage.
The 24-year-old singer-songwriter ran toward the stage, slightly stumbling and completely overwhelmed. Billie collapsed to her knees the second she got up there, and Justin quickly pulled her into a hug and serenaded her. And just like that, the Internet has a new favorite Coachella memory this year!
Billie returned to the crowd emotional, and Hailey welcomed her back with warmth, as if sharing the joy of witnessing a friend’s dream come true in real time.
After the whole show, Billie shared an IG Story update, saying, "Can't stop crying."

Here's Why Justin Bieber Used YouTube For His Older Songs During His Coachella Set
Let’s break down the theories.

Before Billie became one of the biggest pop stars of her generation, she was very open about being a hardcore Justin Bieber fan. The two first met in real life back in 2019 during Coachella, when Ariana Grande headlined the festival.
That same year, Billie posted about her excitement over their collaboration on "Bad Guy," writing online in all-caps energy, "BAD GUY FEAT. JUSTIN BIEBER OUT NOWWW OMGFFFFGGG ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE MAN."
In interviews, Billie has been candid about how deep her admiration for Justin went, even telling Marie Claire US in 2019 that her connection to him felt intensely personal. "It wasn't like I was just a fan, man...I've been in love before, and it was with him."
This wasn't just a fangirl phase, either. The same sentiment showed up as early as when she was 12 years old, in a video where Billie joked that she was worried about getting a boyfriend in the future because of her love for Justin. Resurfacing online, people captured her saying, "I've gotten worried that, when I get a boyfriend, I won't want to be with him because I actually love Justin Bieber."
Over time, Justin and Billie's relationship eventually shifted from fan-idol dynamics to something closer to a mentor-mentee connection and a genuine friendship.
Justin himself has spoken warmly about Billie, even becoming emotional in interviews when talking about her rise in the industry. "If she ever needs me, I'm going to be here for her...just protecting those moments because people take for granted," Justin said in an interview.
Clearly, they've grown fond of each other, and if that's not enough to make us tear up a little, it's the fact that he fully sees Billie's talent and her well-deserved fame. Billie first broke out in 2016 when "Ocean Eyes" went viral on SoundCloud, and she's since evolved into a global powerhouse with Grammys and sold‑out tours.
While Justin and Billie's connection has been widely documented, Hailey has been part of the story, too. Fans have long noticed her appreciation for Billie, including moments like Justin posting a photo of them wearing Billie merch in 2020 with the caption "Our fav @billieeilish."
Hailey and Billie's friendship shows up in the cutest moments. Billie once received a mug as a gift from Hailey, and in a truly chaotic but relatable way, it didn't survive long. While making a smoothie, Billie accidentally broke it, sending it flying across the room. The mug story lives in our minds and hearts as it showed how casual and real their friendship actually is beyond the celebrity layer.
Hailey has also been open in interviews about how she sees young artists like Billie and Justin growing up under constant public attention. She's talked about how strange it is for them to live without real privacy, where even their early adulthood plays out in front of everyone. Because of that, her support feels more thoughtful and intentional, especially in moments like Coachella, where she made space for Billie to have her fangirl moment.
We can't wait to see more of this Justin-Hailey-Billie love!
