Fans have been worrying about the condition of Britney Spears, ever since she posted a quote on her Instagram account early April, which said, "Fall in love with taking care of yourself. Mind, body, spirit."
Around the same time, news reports surfaced that Britney had apparently checked herself in a mental health facility.
The pop star announced in January that she would be taking an indefinite leave of absence from her show, Domination, in Las Vegas, to put family first. Refunds were made available on her website, britneyspears.com. Britney shares how her father had been hospitalized a few months back and was lucky to have survived, but also that he still had "a long road ahead of him" to recover. According to sources, her father had apparently ruptured his colon but was not getting any better.
In a video that she posted a few days ago, Britney shares, "Hi guys, just checking in with all of you who have been concerned about me. All is well. My family has been going through a lot of stress and anxiety lately, so I just needed time to deal. But don't worry. I'll be back very soon."
The video also came with a lengthy message for her fans, wherein Britney says how she is having a hard time as "things have gotten out of control." She shares how her family and her team have been receiving death threats, apart from the rumors circulating.
"Don’t believe everything you read and hear," she cautioned fans, saying a fake e-mail address has been pretending to be her. "My situation is unique, but I promise I’m doing what’s best at this moment."
Despite this challenging time in her life, Britney reassures her followers that she's going to pull through, asking for privacy as she deals with her personal issues.
"You may not know this about me, but I am strong, and stand up for what I want! Your love and dedication is amazing, but what I need right now is a little bit of privacy to deal with all the hard things that life is throwing my way. If you could do that, I would be forever grateful. Love you."
Britney was even able to make light of the situation, as seen in her latest workout post. We're hoping she starts to feel better soon!
