Can you believe it's been three years since Catriona Gray won her Miss Universe title?
Looking back on her reign, the beauty queen penned an emotional post where she shared never-before-seen photos from her Miss Universe journey.
On Instagram, Catriona wrote, "Crazy to think that three years ago today my dreams came true. And I'm infinitely proud to have represented and brought pride to my country."
She said, "The years since my reign ended (December 2019) have been a rollercoaster. And I know I'm not alone in the feeling like I've lost time. Time with loved ones—lost. Plans have been canceled. Dreams delayed."
"Collectively, we have faced adversities and challenges," Catriona continued. "But I want to encourage you. Behind every hindrance is an opportunity. Behind every closed door, is one that is set aside, just for you, waiting to be opened. Behind every perceived denial is a redirection."
Catriona ended her post by writing, "In God's perfect time, dreams come true. Please, just never, ever give up in the pursuit of your purpose."
Catriona, who is the fourth Filipina to win the Miss Universe competition, wowed during the pageant’s prelims with her now-famous "lava walk" and of course, her winning answer to the pageant's Q&A. Since her reign as Miss Universe, a lot of doors have opened up for Catriona. Among these are walking the runway during New York Fashion Week; being named by a Dubai-based publication as "woman of the year" for her humanitarian work; releasing her version of the song "Raise Your Flag;" and in June, she became one of the first all-female hosts of the Binibining Pilipinas pageant.
