Celebs And Fashionistas Show Their Love For Barbie And The LBD

A timeless fashion icon and a classic fashion staple were celebrated in one stylish night.

Before we were Cosmo girls, we were, well, little girls. And if there's one thing a lot of us had in common when we were younger, it would have to be our fascination for the Barbie doll, which is most probably responsible for starting our love affair with fashion and beauty.

We loved to dress her up in various outfits and styling her hair in so many ways, that we eventually grew up wanting to dress ourselves up and styling our own hair in the prettiest manner possible. Some, in fact, brought their love for Barbie to their adult life, collecting limited edition Barbies that come out every so often. For a lot of women, Barbie is more than just a childhood plaything--she is a fashion icon.

That's why even fashion websites like Cosmo.ph's sister site, StyleBible, still celebrate the doll that is partly (or largely, for some) responsible for our love of fashion and helped launch Barbie's new line called Barbie Basics here in Manila. As a tribute to another fashion classic, the little black dress or LBD, these Barbies were styled by members of the Young Designers Guild, Jerome Lorico, Eric delos Santos, Veejay Floresca, Mitzi Quilendrino Bustos, Louis Claparols, Ferdi Abuel, Regine Dulay, and Reian Mata, in their best interpretations of the LBD for Barbie.

Celebs and fashionistas flocked to the event in their most stylish LBDs. Launch the gallery to see some of the familiar faces we spotted at the event.
