This Dictionary’s Word Of The Year Is *Really* Scary

Don't worry, guys. 2016 is almost over.

It’s been one hell of a year. A lot of the things we never thought would happen—the stuff of nightmares, really—have happened.

Many of those unbelievable moments raised a lot of questions, curiosity, and fear among thousands of people. According to Dictionary.com, the one word that people constantly looked up is “xenophobia.” Xenophobia generates two definitions:

1. fear or hatred of foreigners, people from different cultures, or strangers.

2. fear or dislike of the customs, dress, etc., of people who are culturally different from oneself.

With everything that’s been going on around the word, most recently Trump’s successful presidential run, we’re not that surprised. Let’s all use this as motivation to do better and actually be better next year.
