It's official: The Filipino adaptation of Descendants Of The Sun has found its male lead! It's none other than 38-year-old Kapuso actor Dingdong Dantes. According to GMA News, the father of two renewed his contract with the network today, where the announcement of his casting was also made.
The role was originally played by Song Joong Ki in 2016. "Big Boss" or Captain Yoo Si-Jin is the team leader of a fictional elite special forces team who's dedicated to defending those in need of help, even if it means having to question his superiors' orders. He's funny, witty, *hot*, and is determined to gain the affections of Doctor Kang Mo-yeon, played by Song Hye Kyo.
Dingdong is no stranger to playing action roles in television. His latest teleserye is Cain At Abel, which tells the story of two estranged brothers who are reunited by dramatic circumstances.
Following the announcement of his DOTS casting on Instagram, fans have been clamoring for Dingdong's wife Marian Rivera (who recently gave birth to their second child) to play the role of Doctor Kang.
