Dominic Roque had expressed his woes on social media a day before his reported split with now ex-fiancée Bea Alonzo.
In a now-expired Instagram story, almost a day before their official breakup news made waves online, the celebrity posted a photo of a religious quote on how suffering should be perceived in one's life.
The quote starts with Dan's story, who seeks God's guidance when faced with hard moments in life. "Dan prayed for healing, but it never came. [...] Unfortunately, that doesn't happen when everything is unicorns and rainbows. It happens when life is tough," the quote read.
He also posted a quote that included the lines: "We also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope."
A part of the quote also read, "God meets us in our suffering and helps us grow in Him. Rather than viewing afflictions as His disfavor, may we look for ways He's using them to sharpen and build our characters as we experience His love poured out into our hearts."
Dominic's post comes a few days after speculations about his rumored breakup with his then-fiancée broke the Internet. Eagle-eyed netizens have noticed the absence of Bea's engagement ring in her recent photos.

More speculations floated about when Bea appeared uncertain about their wedding plans. In what some netizens believe to be a possible slight against Dominic, Bea mentioned that men should be the ones taking charge in planning a wedding.
When asked about the specifics of their upcoming wedding, "Wala. Wala pang plano. Parang dapat yung lalake yung nag-pa-plano," she revealed in an interview during a brand event.

However, she also elaborated, "Hindi lang pwede lalake. We are always pushing for equality... Equality means pati yung effort equal." Bea strongly noted how both of them have been exerting ~equal efforts~ not just for their planning but to making their relationship work.
"Sa relasyon naman namin wala naman mas nag-e-effort o mas hindi nag-e-effort," she added.
However, there was nothing to share about their upcoming wedding at the time of her interview. "Wala pa. Wala pa talaga. Sorry, wala ako ma-share."
The couple remains silent about the allegations that their relationship has come to an end.
Dominic Roque and Bea Alonzo's Breakup
On February 6, 2024, TV personality Boy Abunda reported that the couple had gone their separate ways through his show, Fast Talk With Boy Abunda. Although Tito Boy did not reveal the true reason behind the breakup, he shed some light on certain controversies that surround the couple.
One of those is an alleged argument about Bea and Dom's prenuptial agreement. The King of Talk mentioned that Dom willingly volunteered to do it. "'Yung prenup po, many months ago, napag-usapan na ito. Ang nag-volunteer po sa nanay ni Bea ay si Dominic. So I don't think it was an issue," he claimed.
The host also cited an anonymous source saying that Bea presumably returned the engagement ring to Dom—and that the wedding has been canceled already.
Moreover, Tito Boy asked for kindness from everyone, and for netizens not to jump to conclusions about their relationship. He stated that Dom has been trying to win Bea back, as they are currently going through a rough patch.
"Yes, you and I have the right to comment. Yes, we have the freedom of speech. But ako, I appeal for kindness... What do we really know about this relationship? Do we know the nuances? Alam ba talaga natin ng detalye?" he concluded.
