Mention fashion designer Ramon Valera to your mom or your lola, and they’ll probably gush about how beautiful his works are. You may not have been born yet in that decade where gowns and dresses prettified with intricate beadwork, embroidery, and hand-drawn sketches were custom-made for ladies by the first National Artist for Fashion. But Freeway pays tribute to Ramon Valera by featuring him in the fourth installment of the National Artist Collectors’ Series.
Freeway gathered quite an interesting guestlist for this collection launch held at The Row, Glorietta 5. Present at the event were admirers of Valera’s works and people close to him like former first lady Imelda Marcos, Valera’s niece Peching Zulueta-Gomez, and fashion designer Aureo Alonzo. Other guests present at the event got to know the National Artist more through the special guests' interesting stories about Valera during the event.
The night was highlighted by a fashion show featuring Freeway’s modernized Valera works and an exhibit of the beautiful ternos and gowns made by Ramon Valera.
If you missed the exclusive one-night viewing of these gowns at Glorietta 5, you can see them all there when you launch the gallery. Check out the celebrities and guests who attended the event, too.
