"It was 35 years ago that we made that commitment to be husband and wife," Gary started his lengthy post. "She was 25 and I was 19." Aww!
Gary went on to share how their married life has been far from perfect, of course.
"Yes, yes, yes, I know our story is good enough to be made into a movie," Gary said. "But I’m here to say that this wouldn’t have lasted this long without the grace and mercy of the almighty God to see us through it. We’ve been through the most challenging of times and thankfully we’ve come out of them only as people who wanted to become better and not bitter. No, she isn’t perfect, but I’m far more imperfect than she is and yet she loves me just the same and I’m truly thankful for this. None of this however developed overnight but over time."
In May 2018, Gary underwent coronary bypass surgery, and in June 2018, another operation for kidney cancer.
In June of this year, Gary posted on Instagram a photo collage: one of his son Gab Valenciano looking after him when he was hospitalized in 2018, and another one of Gary looking after Gab, who got into a motorcycle accident. It was Gab's 31st birthday.
These days, Gary enjoys being a lolo to his three-year-old granddaughter, Leia Valenciano. Leia is the child of Gary and Angeli's son, Paolo Valenciano. You have to see Gary and Leia's bonding time posts together!
Gary and Angeli have three kids: Gab, Kiana Valenciano, and Paolo.
