Gela Atayde Just Soft Launched Her BF—And Yes, Everyone's Zooming In For Clues

During our casual weekend doomscrolling (yup, that's the term), we came across Gela Atayde's interesting soft launch of her new boyfie! And while it took us a couple of weeks to spot this, we want to share with you the facts we saw on her TikTok.

Staying within the code of soft launches, Gela kept her boyfriend's identity under wraps. Instead of revealing his face, she shared a video of herself laughing and enjoying his company. The caption? A total hint at just how smitten she is.

"Soft love, safe arms, zero doubts. I got the best one 🩵 He makes me laugh 'til I cry, not cry 'til I have to laugh ✨" her caption read.

Well, fans were definitely happy for Gela. But you can't stop everyone (including us) from wanting to know the identity of the lucky guy. And so, we went to the comments section where people flocked and typed in who they think is Gela's boyfriend at the moment.

In a surprising twist, Zaijian Jaranilla's name came up frequently in the conversation. The TikTok nation was quick to attribute some of the features shown in the video—like a glimpse of the guy's eye, his bracelet, and a part (!) of his facial features—allegedly all looked like the child actor's. "Kilay at mata pa lang, Zaijian na eh," one commenter said.

Unlike in her other TikTok uploads, Gela didn't respond to some of the comments. So, if you're looking for some confirmation, well, we're looking for one as well. But what we can confirm is that Gela is in a happy relationship, and we're absolutely happy for her.

It's basically the same story, with them portraying the same characters. But Gela and Zaijian were just friends in the series, and not even a love team. In fact, Zaijian portrayed a queer character with Miggy Jimenez as his love interest in the show.

Of course, while Gela and Zaijian may not be a romantic pair onscreen, they—and the rest of the cast—have built a genuine friendship that extends beyond the cameras. The two were spotted in several photos hanging out with friends, enjoying each other's company off the set.

In Gela's usual monthly dump on Instagram, there were a couple of photos that included Zaijian. One was together with their fellow Senior High co-star and a close friend of the Ataydes, Juan Karlos. Another was just them posing for a photo at the ABS-CBN Ball last year with more members of the Senior High cast, Daniela Stranner and Miggy Jimenez.
