If you want to pause a video you're watching in someone else's story, hold your finger down on the screen to stop pause it and raise your finger to start it up again.

3. CUSTOMIZE YOUR COLOR

To pick a different color to write or draw with other than the 27 automated options, simply press down on any of the color circles and pick the specific shade you want from the spectrum that appears.

4. COLORBLOCK YOUR SCREEN

Using the marker tool, drag your finger down the screen slowly (and I mean very slowly) and the colored line will turn into a box that you can use to make a text box or fill the entire screen as long as you continue to hold your finger down.

You can also change the colors of your text by selecting any word or letter and picking a color from below in any combination.

6. ADJUST YOUR LIGHT

If you’re somewhere outdoors at night or in a place with low lighting indoors, you can brighten your shot before you take your photo by selecting the moon icon.

7. POST FROM YOUR PHONE'S CAMERA ROLL

You can upload photos and videos from the last 24 hours of your camera roll by swiping up on the screen when you're inside Instagram Stories. While you can also record Boomerangs within Instagram Stories now, you can also upload Boomerangs and hyperlapse videos up to 10 seconds in length from your camera roll the same way.

8. ZOOM IN AND OUT

If you hold down the video circle and move your finger up the screen you can zoom in while recording video—all with just one finger. If you want to zoom out, just move your finger back down the screen for the opposite effect.
