Janella Salvador and Markus Paterson confirmed that they're a couple in September 2020! On January 5, 2021, the couple introduced their baby boy, Jude Trevor Paterson, to the world through a YouTube vlog. Since last year, they've been suuuper private about their dating life, but here's what we know about their relationship, so far:
February 2019: Janella and Markus worked together in an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya.
Janella played the role of OPM singer Moira Dela Torre, while Markus portrayed her ex-boyfriend Timothy. Watch the *emotional* scene where Moira begs Timothy not to break up with her below:
After their MMK stint, Markus made the first move and sparks flew from there! In an interview, Markus shared: "I was there with my roommate...tapos sabi ko, 'DM ko kaya 'to? Should I shoot my shot?' Baka naman, 'di ba? So minessage ko, sabi ko, 'Good job! Ang galing mo.'"
Early 2019: Dating rumors started circulating.
Eagle-eyed fans noticed that their IG photos seemed to be taken at the same locations!
August 2019: Markus said he already met Janella's mom and dad.
As reported by PEP.ph, Markus confirmed in a press con that he'd already met Janella's parents Jenine Desiderio and Juan Miguel Salvador.
September 2019: Markus was present during the birthday celeb of Janella's dad!
According to reports, Janella also attended the birthday celebration of Markus' mom in Pangasinan that same month.
October 2019: Markus admitted he got jealous of Joshua and Janella's love team.
At that time, Janella and Joshua were starring in The Killer Bride. During his guesting on Tonight With Boy Abunda, Markus said: "Yung unang feeling na...konting selos na butterflies. But when I thought about it, well, it's work. And they're both really good at what they do, and they can create chemistry just like that. They're friends already and Josh is a great guy."
He shared, "What we have is between us, and we want to keep it that way. She said that she didn't want to have a relationship with the rest of the world [because] she's experienced that. I want to respect her and what she wishes, too. So I'm not going to say anything to confirm or deny it."
November 2019: Janella on their *rumored* relationship— 'Masaya but I just don't want to share a lot.'
Janella said she was more open to talking about her love life because she had time to heal from her last relationship. "Siguro noong time na 'yon mas careful ako kasi mas fresh pa. Pero ngayon, madami na akong napagdaanan from that moment. Mas madami na akong natutunan. Talagang fully recovered na kaming lahat."
September 2020: Janella and Markus made their relationship Insta-official.
On September 12, Janella posted a photo of them in Japan with the caption: "The best hugs in the world from the best potato in the world." Markus also posted a video of them slow dancing and sharing a kiss!
After these posts, rumors circulated that Janella and Markus were going to have a baby.
September 24, 2020: Janella's mom celebrated her birthday in the UK with Janella and Markus' family.
Jenine posted photos of her family with Markus and his dad on Instagram. It seemed like Janella had been based in the UK for a few months already.
October 1, 2020: Markus released a new single dedicated to Janella.
The song, which is called "For J," was accompanied by the sweetest lyric video!
October 20, 2020: Janella gave birth to baby Jude.

On October 22, Netizens were quick to spot Markus' IG stories, where he allegedly posted photos of a sleeping woman and a newborn baby at the hospital. The photos were reportedly deleted soon after, but fans speculated that Janella had already given birth.

In a YouTube vlog released at 8 p.m, Janella and Markus shared a letter dedicated to their firstborn child, Jude. We learned that Janella found out about the pregnancy in February, and the couple shared snippets of Janella's pregnancy journey—including her ultrasound sessions! It seems like Jude has his own Insta account now, too.
March 24, 2021: Janella and Markus celebrate their second anniversary.
Janella shared the cutest video to celebrate the milestone, where we see adorable clips of them together! "Two years of goofing around with my favorite potato. Mabu, booba," she wrote for the caption.
Meanwhile, Markus said: "Two amazing years with you my love. I love you more than the sun loves the sky." Awww!
