Read Kathryn Bernardo’s Heartfelt Post On Winning the 2019 Eddy Award For Best Actress

Kathryn said it’s about the many hearts you’re able to touch through your films.

Fresh off from winning Best Actress at the recently concluded 2019 Eddy AwardsKathryn Bernardo shared a heartfelt post as she described receiving her latest achievement. 

On July 15, Kathryn shared a photo on Instagram of her shiny trophy together with the envelope that bears her name as best actress. She first thanked the Entertainment Editors’ Choice Awards for Movies for the “unexpected” win for her role in "The Hows of Us."

Kathryn continued, “I personally believe that trophies do not make an actress. It’s also not about the sales or how much a movie has earned. It's about the many hearts that you're able to touch through your films. It's about making a fictional character come to life and having other people see themselves in her as well.”

The Hows Of Us star also talked about the blood, sweat, and tears that she put into playing the role. She said, “I feel validated as an actress, not because of this trophy, but because of what it symbolizes: people lining up in the [cinema] to see the film we've worked so hard on, being able to touch so many hearts through it, and the continuous support and recognition that we've been receiving since.”

Kathryn received the award for her role as George in Cathy Garcia-Molina’s 2018 romantic drama, The Hows Of Us which she starred alongside real-life boyfriend Daniel Padilla. The film was a commercial success, raking in P800 million in the box office. Not only that, the Film Development Council of the Philippines honored the film with a Camera Obscura award in February 2019 which Kathryn received.
