Katrina Halili Fights Back

Not even a scandal of epic proportions can stop our July Cover Girl from taking a stand and looking ahead.
katrinahalili1.jpgIf you're looking for a model of resilience, let it be controversial sexy actress Katrina Halili, who is slowly but surely getting her life, post-sex scandal, back on track.

To say that her fight is tough is an understatement, but it's one that Katrina is more than willing to push until the end. Barely ten days after Hayden Kho's sex videos of Katrina hit the Internet, the Senate brought to light the Anti Voyeurism Bill, which was filed back in 2007. It took Katrina’s plight for the Senate to finally approve the bill on June 5.

Katrina counts this as one of her victories, but the fight is hardly over. In her tell-all interview for Cosmopolitan magazine last month, the actress dishes the real story behind the videos, revealing that she had suffered from a guilty conscience even before the videos were released.

"Na-in love kasi ako sa maling tao," she tells Cosmo. "'Pag in love kasi, minsan hindi mo na alam kung ano 'yung tama at ano 'yung mali. Naging selfish ako kasi s'yempre friend ko si Dra. Vicki Belo. So inayos ko naman kaya ako nakipaghiwalay...ako, lumayo talaga ako. Matagal na akong lumayo."

The hurt may have mellowed for now, but Katrina continues to rally on. Her comeback in GMA's new telenovela, Rosalinda, just shows that her case is far from hopeless. In's exclusive interview with the sexy star, discover the secret to her strength and see how eager she is to take another shot at success.[nextpage]

katrinahalili2.jpgQ: What's your mindset while you're fighting for justice?

Q: What empowers you right now?
A: Family and friends, kasi palagi nila akong dinadalaw, palagi silang nandiyan; 'yung courage and tapang ko na ilaban din 'yung case.

Q: You have a significant role in GMA's Rosalinda. Is there a dream role you haven't done yet?
A: Anything basta hindi muna villain.

Q: Has your view of men changed in general?
Kasi when it comes to relationships, dati sa akin madali lahat.

Q: Would you say you're taking a break from dating for now?
A: Tamad din ako, hindi ako pala-labas. Sa ngayon, hindi talaga. Pero hindi ko sinasabing I'm closing my doors.

Q: Let's say you're ready to date now. What qualities would you look for in a guy?
A: Siguro kung magde-date ako, family date. Or with friends, kasi sila naman 'yung nakakaamoy sa ibang tao. Dapat marunong siyang makisama sa friends and family ko. 'Yun lang naman ang importante sa akin.

Q: What should he do to impress you?
A: Simple lang ako e, dapat marunong ka lang makisama sa friends and family ko.

Q: How will you celebrate when this is all over?
A: Get together with my friends (laughs). Actually, nothing special, I just have to be with my family and friends.
