Just as we thought the news of celebrity breakups would end, another split has been confirmed. Kim Chiu announced that she and Xian Lim have broken up.

Through an Instagram post, Kim issued her statement to end the speculations about the status of her relationship with Xian. She dropped the bomb with the first line: "End of a love story."

She then detailed why she kept silent. 

"It took me a while to say this until today.

We owe our supporters the truth, but we also respect each other’s time of healing. In a relationship, love is always a significant factor, but sometimes love is not enough."

Kim explained that the decision to separate was mutual and that they aimed to stay friends.

"We shared more than a decade of love, each other’s support system, and many beautiful memories. It was our mutual decision to transition our relationship into what we hope to be a lifelong friendship."

She thanked their supporters and asked for privacy and understanding.

"We thank all our followers for their love and support, but now we ask you to appreciate our honesty and give us the privacy we need as we begin new chapters of our lives. To all our supporters, maraming salamat for all the love and understanding."

The last part of the post was dedicated to Xian.

"Lastly, to Xi, Thank you for the almost 12 years of beautiful memories together one can never imagine. You will always have a place in my heart. Thank you for showing me what love is."

Kim also reminded their fans to be kind and respectful. 

"As we close this chapter of our lives, I ask for everyone’s kindness and respect. I hope this clears everything as we all move forward with our lives."

Minutes after Kim posted, Xian shared his breakup announcement. It was like his last love letter to Kim.

"Dearest Kim, thank you for the long years we have spent loving each other.

The 12 years of my life with you was the best gift I could ever ask for. We have expressed our love for each other to the fullest and knowing that I got to share those moment with you, knowing our hearts beat as one at one point in our lives is truly something I will cherish for life.

Like all good things, it must eventually come to an end. I am grateful for all the moments we shared together. Thank you for all the unconditional love throughout the years. My respect and admiration for you as a person, as an artist, and as some one I spent more than a decade with will always remain.

I wish that you will find all the happiness and love you are searching for. You deserve nothing but the best.

People widely know Kim and Xian first worked together in 2011. They played leads in the teleserye My Binondo Girl. But actually, Xian played supporting role in My Girl, a K-drama adaptation starring Kim and ex-love team/BF, Gerald Anderson

KimXi was a success on the small and big screen. Eventually, the two became close. It wasn't until 2018 that Xian announced they were officially dating. In 2021, Kim revealed that Xian courted her for a year and a half before she said yes.

When the two hit thirties, people thought they were endgame, and expected them to get married. In April 2022 Xian revealed that he doesn't feel pressured to marry Kim just yet"Basta ang kasunduan namin, as long as nagmamahalan kami nang lubos, that’s all that matters," he explained. 

Breakup rumors started in November 2023, and Xian warned netizens against believing in hearsay. Days before the breakup announcement, Kim said that her love life is "naka-hang."
