Kim Chiu Had An Unfiltered Reaction To The Viral Kimerald Reunion—And She's So Real For That

In today's hottest celebrity news: We found Kim Chiu un-subtly reacting to the Internet losing it after her mini reunion with ex-boyfriend, Gerald Anderson, at the Star Magical Christmas: Sleigh the Night event held on November 23, 2025.

As we saw it, it was just a two-second exchange of civil pleasantries—between label-mates, at the very least. The two were among this year's Star Magic Loyalty Awardees, having both reached their 20th year with the talent agency. After all, Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson entered showbiz at the same time as housemates on Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition 1 back in 2006.

But aside from their awards, fans were living for the fact that they got to see Kim and Gerald, phenomenally known as KimErald, together at an official event.

Kim, arguably one of the most chronically online celebs out there, noticed the situation and posted on X (formerly Twitter), "Nakakaloka yung feed ko ah. Kung makapagrelapse akala mo talaga eh di tayo niloko 15 years ago!!! hahahahaha char not char!!!! 🤪🤪🤪🤣🤣"

Kim might not be the biggest fan of comebacks with exes or what the Internet would refer to as a "relapse moment." But it was the first time in a long while that Kim and Gerald were seen together on one stage and briefly (emphasis on briefly!) interacting with each other.

And so, understandably, fans were making a run for it, in an attempt to see if there's a chance to see Kim and Gerald reunited as a love team onscreen. "Wala bang movie Ate Kim? May pambili na kami ng movie ticket oh!" one fan expressed online.

Another said, "HAHAHA girl your feed is wild 🤪✨ parang collective amnesia??? Like hello, niloko po siya noon tapos ngayon biglang relapse season??"

So far, Gerald hasn't made any comment about how the Internet reacted to their KimErald moment.

Since Kimerald fans are having a so-called relapse moment, let's take a quick trip down memory lane, shall we? Kim and Gerald's history goes a looong way back.

They were each other's first love team partners in their showbiz careers. As mentioned earlier, the two gained popularity because of the personalities they showcased during their Pinoy Big Brother stint, with Kim emerging as the Big Winner of their batch in 2006.

After PBB, success came easily for both of them—and so did love. The ex-couple started dating in 2006 and called it quits in 2010. Their breakup was one of those celebrity news stories that broke the hearts of many.

In her 2012 cover story with Cosmopolitan Philippines, Kim admitted that she had held onto Gerald a little too tightly during their relationship. Add to that the fact that Gerald was reportedly Kim's first boyfriend as well.

So, yes, the breakup hit harder than it should have for her. "Sobra akong nag-cling masyado kay Gerald because my dad left, so siya na lang. Inikot ko yung life ko and work ko sa kanya," Kim said.

The two never fully disclosed the reason for the breakup at the time. Back then, they led their fans to believe that it was because they were two young to be together, and that it was a mutual decision.

However, cheating rumors circulated about the ex-couple. In a 2015 episode of Gandang Gabi, Vice, Kim discreetly confirmed that an ex-partner had cheated on her. "Oo, totoo yung sinasabi nila na [nung] iyak ka nang iyak na, 'Hindi, pagtatawanan mo lang 'yan [pagdating ng araw],'" she told Vice Ganda, as reported by as PEP.ph. At the time of the interview, Kim had only been with Gerald.

Even as exes, Kim and Gerald knew how to keep it professional. In 2017, the two agreed to work together again for the teleserye, Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin. And believe it or not, the ex-couple showed up for most of the show's promotional activities, openly talking about their past relationship and what lay ahead for them as actors.

During hat era, Gerald once revealed that he had been the immature one in their former relationship, and that Kim had been nothing but a perfect partner.

"Sa totoo lang, kung papaano po [si Kim] magmahal, sobrang perfect na, eh. Bilang isang lalaki, ako po talaga yung immature. Hindi ko pa vina-value kung ano pang mayroon ako noon. Kapag nagmahal siya, buong-buo, eh. So napakaswerte ng mamahalin niya," Gerald said in a 2017 interview with Boy Abunda.

Kim separated from Xian Lim in 2023 after 12 years together and is now working with Paulo Avelino as a love team partner.
