Aww, Kim Chiu Is Super Proud Of Xian Lim For Directing His First Movie

Xian's directorial debut, 'Tabon,' is part of this year's Cinemalaya Film Festival.

Xian Lim just debuted his first movie as a director, Tabon, at the prestigious Cinemalaya Film Festival, and Kim Chiu couldn’t be prouder. She posted on Instagram, “I just want to say congratulations to this man right here. He really pushed himself to the limit! Your sleepless nights, random writing alone early in the morning, editing, prod meeting, and so on—I saw how you worked hard for this! Congrats, Direk Xi! This is another feather on your cap! A directorial debut!”

Kim is currently in Victoria, Canada, after performing at the ASAP event in California, U.S. “Wish I was there to witness, but I am there in spirit and will always be your number one fan.”

Kim also posted a photo of her wearing Xian’s XL8 merch to show her support.

Tabon is about “[a man whose] belief in reality is tested when suspects are accused of a crime they believe to have not committed.” Directed and co-written by Xian, the film stars Christopher Roxas, Ynna Asistio, Dexter Doria, Bapbap Reyes, Menggie Cobarrubias, Leon Miguel, Benjie Felipe, Lao Rodriguez, and Richard Manabat. Tabon is competing in the full-length category of the film festival.
