KZ Tandingan Enters A New Chapter In Her Career As An Independent Recording Artist

Published on Mar 3, 2026
The music and entertainment industry can be a lot to take in, but KZ Tandingan is stepping into its challenges with courage and excitement in her new era as an independent recording artist. In simple terms, it means she is taking full control of her music, her sound, and the direction of her career.
While she remains under Cornerstone Entertainment for management, KZ is no longer signed to a record label and now enjoys the creative freedom to release and produce her own music—while maintaining royalties.

The announcement came just weeks after her successful four-day concert tour with her husband, TJ Monterde.
"In the middle of that big moment, something very personal was unfolding too. With the love and support of my first home, Star Music, my management, my family, and my ever-supportive husband, l've stepped into a new season," the actress opened.
"I am now officially an INDEPENDENT ARTIST," she announced.
For KZ, this new era brings a mix of emotions. She described it as both "exciting" and "scary," admitting that there is still so much for her to learn as she navigates this path on her own, but she is choosing to trust.
"But I'm choosing courage. I'm choosing growth. I'm choosing to trust myself," she said.

She also shared that one of the standout performances during the fourth night of their recent tour was deeply personal. The song, "Sinong Magmamahal Sa 'Kin?" was actually her very first independent release. It is a track she dedicated to her sister and to anyone who has always been "the strong one" amid facing personal battles.
"It's for the people who rarely get asked if they're okay. The ones who carry so much but still show up with love. And deep down, they're just hoping someone will see them too," KZ explained.
She added, "As I step into this new chapter, I'm holding onto hope—that growth will meet me where fear lives, that courage will meet me where doubt tries to settle."

Her announcement was met with an outpouring of love from friends and fellow artists in the industry. Celebrities such as Iza Calzado, Enchong Dee, Morissette, Yeng Constantino, and Janine Tenoso shared congratulatory messages, celebrating this bold leap in her career.

KZ has cemented her legacy in the Filipino music industry. Admired not only locally but also by audiences around the world, she has earned numerous accolades and nominations that recognize both her vocal power and craft. Among her most recent achievements is the FAMAS Award for Best Original Song for "Hahamakin Ang Lahat," alongside Arthur Nery and Quest. The song served as the original theme for the movie The Uninvited.
