Liza Soberano Says She's Excited For Jane De Leon's Career, Adds 'I can already feel Darna's success'

When she found out Jane De Leon was cast as the new Darna, Liza Soberano says she congratulated the 20-year-old right away.

“Congratulations [heart emoji],” Liza commented hours after Jane posted about playing the superhero.

Yesterday, entertainment journalist MJ Felipe quoted Liza to have said, “I’m so happy for Jane De Leon and Star Cinema. I believe she embodies everything Darna possesses. Beauty, brains, strength, empathy, and kindness.”

“I told her,” Liza added, “if ever she feels the weight of the responsibility bestowed upon her, she can always talk to me. I’m so excited for her career and to watch the movie! I can already feel Darna’s success.”

Liza withdrew from the Darna remake in April after sustaining a serious finger injury. During the search for a new actress for Darna, her manager posted her advice for the chosen actress: "Kung new face 'yan, Tito Ogs, galingan niya talagadahil sobrang laking opportunity ng Darna sa kanya. Give her heart and soul to the project, lalo na sa mga training at sa acting. And I know for sure, this movie will make her. 'Wag lang ikalaki ng ulo niya because hindi siya nag-start from [the] bottom. Big break agadKaya remain humble."

Liza was in the US this past week for another surgery for her broken finger and bone infection. Enrique Gil was with her the whole time, and when she was out of the hospital, the two traveled together.
