It's hard to imagine Liza Soberano not being the top actress and celebrity endorser she is today. But just like many stars before her, Liza went through a lot of rejection during the early days of her career, particularly when was just merely doing modeling.
On a recent guesting on Magandang Buhay, Liza revealed that she did not book a single TV commercial she auditioned for when she was just starting out: "Dati po hindi po ako nakukuha sa lahat ng TVC auditions [and] VTR (video tape recording). Lagi po akong nagvi-VTR for TVCs pero never po ako nakuha. First TVC ko po artista na ako," she said.
She also shared that she knew she wasn't doing her best to book those jobs, saying that, at that time, she only did it "because I had to, not because I wanted to."
But one instance that definitely made an impact on her early career was when she was dropped as a face of a brand after doing the photo shoot.
Liza's longtime manager Ogie Diaz also gave more insight on Liza's first career heartache, "Sobra siyang excited.
But from the looks of it, she's used these career lows to drive her to succeed in her craft. Today, Liza is starring in the hit box-office hit film, Alone/Together, with real-life boyfriend Enrique Gil.
