Fans Are *Losing It* At The First Look Of The 'Lizzie McGuire' Revival And So Are We

The dawn of a fresh new decade brings plenty to look forward to, from movies, fashion trends, and new music.

But Disney has shared their plans for 2020 in the most exciting way—and their announcements have pretty much trumped everything else we were looking forward to. Seriously—we're struggling to keep our cool.

In a tweet on New Year's Day, Disney Plus shared a teaser for their 2020 content which included a split-second look at the Lizzie McGuire revival. Yep—you read that right. THEY'RE BRINGING BACK LIZZIE MACGUIRE.

In case you missed it, the revival was first announced during Disney's D23 Expo last year, and it'll see Hilary Duff return to her role as a 30-year-old Lizzie McGuire in New York City. Excited doesn't even cut it.

Once again put together by original creator Terri Minsky, Lizzie McGuire 2.0 will also see the return of Adam Lamberg as Gordo, plus Hallie Todd, Robert Carradine, and Jake Thomas as Lizzie's family members.

Oh, and Lizzie's cartoon alter-ego is set to return to our screens, too.

Speaking about returning to her titular role, Hilary Duff said: "It's so great to be home. Lizzie is older, wiser, and has a much bigger shoe budget, which is exciting."

Even though fans only got to see a teeny tiny piece of footage from the upcoming revival, they're still going *actually* wild for it.

Plenty of people tweeted the famous "this is what dreams are made of" meme in reply, obviously.

One user wrote: "Oh my god there's a split second of footage from Lizzie McGuire yaaaaaaaaaa babbbeeee".


One fan tweeted: "Lizzie McGuire was the first show I ever truly loved and Hilary Duff was my first concert and now the show is BACK. 2020 is going to be incredible because of this fact alone." We're in total agreement.
