Megan Young and Mikael Daez will forever be that couple who is always full of surprises. After their surprise wedding (and second wedding!), the two dropped another bomb about their relationship—they were actually engaged for five years and the proposal happened randomly!

"Mik and I were engaged for five years," Megan said in an interview with 24 Oras. Mikael added: "That’s a minor detail that you have to know… It was a spontaneous proposal around four and a half years ago and siyempre dahil spontaneous hindi naman ako handa, wala akong ring."

Even the ring he gave Megan is quite unique. It was a light blue topaz surrounded with diamonds inspired by—get this—a video game that they both love! The couple revealed that they love playing the online game Ragnarok so they both decided to use it as an inspiration. He even had the ring done by his grandmother who is a jeweler.

"It looks exactly like it. So It’s a video game ring, 'yon ang peg naminAlam ko naman 'yong tradition was diamonds pero mas importante para sa akin kung ano 'yong gusto niya personally," Mikael said.

He even revealed in an exclusive interview with that they considered getting a watch instead. "We don't like rings. We are not ring-wearers so I was like, 'Bakit tayo kukuha ng singsing para sa iyo kung hindi mo naman susuotin?'"

"So sabi ko, 'Sige, maybe we can get a watch for one another? Baka 'yon puwede pa kahit papaano kasi mas madalas nating sinusuot?'

Thankfully, Megan got the inspiration while she was playing Ragnarok. She apparently liked the "Staunch Ring" from the game so she decided to have something blue for herself.

Lola Amelita, Mikael’s grandmother, shared a little bit about the process, too. "It’s not easy to get that stone… The cutters, they cut big, big colored stones but she didn’t want a big one. She’s that simple."
