Megan Young Shares Hilarious Childbirth "Expectations vs. Reality" Moments

Published on Jun 11, 2025
Social media, in many ways, often conceals the raw reality of life's most intimate experiences—including pregnancy and childbirth. Between filtered bump photos and dreamy hospital shots, it's easy to forget that behind every curated post is a woman navigating a physically and emotionally demanding journey.
Luckily, Megan Young, a true beauty queen in every sense of the word, reminded us of the truth that often gets lost in the aesthetic: giving birth is powerful, painful, and incredibly human.

In an Instagram post, the former beauty queen added a humorous twist to the classic "expectation vs. reality" moment of giving birth to her first child. And it's one that many mothers will instantly relate to.
Megan perfectly drew the line between what she thought she’d look like while giving birth—well-dressed, calm, and collected—then what actually happened. She showed an unfiltered photo of herself in a hospital gown, visibly exhausted and filled with mixed emotions, perfectly capturing how childbirth can be messy, one that is far from being perfect.
"Akala ko may oras pa ako mag-ayos para maganda sa picture after giving birth...but when I woke up, I was fully dilated," Megan shared.
"I'm just thankful that at least Fofo [Mikael Daez] was there to take care of me kahit na teletubbies na ung hairstyle na binigay niya sa akin," she added.
In May, Megan and husband Mikael welcomed their first baby together—a boy! Megan’s announcement of entering her "momma era" was nothing short of heartfelt, as she expressed gratitude to her support system who stood by her throughout what she described as a "crazy tiring and crazy happy" process.
"From all the doctors and nurses from when we were in the hospital, our family and friends that have visited and shown love and care non stop and to the friends that have helped whenever I would send messages asking for advice.. thank you for being there for us!!!" Megan expressed.
