Michelle Dee has finally unveiled her evening gown for the Miss World 2019 pageant.
The 24-year-old daughter of Melanie Marquez will compete in the pageant's evening gown competition wearing a classic blue ensemble embellished with fine stones and crystals.
The gown is designed by Francis Libiran, who also made her sun goddess-inspired national costume.
Part of her caption reads, "For the @missworld World Designer Awards I wore an exquisite gown inspired by the Philippine Seas by @francislibiran8."
During her send-off party on November 13, Michelle assured PEP.ph and other members of media that her evening gown is a head-turner, and took inspiration from the Philippine Seas.
She said, "We played on the concept of it being the Pearl of the Orient Seas. So it is going to be in the shade of...secret na lang kung anong shade of blue, pero it's very lovely, the details are exquisite.
"When I tried walking in it, it was very fluid, very elegant. I'm pretty sure it will turn a lot of heads when I reach the international stage."
Meanwhile, Francis gave more details, "Ang ginamit namin is chiffon together with linear embroidery and beading.
"We had a meeting, like, months ago and I was telling her, 'What do you really want for Miss World?'
"And I see how she walked, which is very good with flowy materials, very lightweight. [We chose] nothing girly in terms of colors because it's her personality.
"So we really try to tailor-fit it to who she was, you know. And doon ko nakuha iyong inspiration na we should [play around] with water, the Philippine Sea."
Michelle is among 111 candidates from all over the world competing for the Miss World crown.
Reigning titleholder Vanessa Ponce of Mexico will crown her successor at the pageant's grand coronation night on December 14, at the ExCeL London in England.
