Mikee Quintos Shares How She Knew She'd Finally Gotten Closure From Ex Paul Salas

Published on Aug 20, 2026
A year after her breakup with ex-boyfriend Paul Salas, Mikee Quintos wants fans to know that she's doing much better these days. In fact, she said she has already gotten the closure she needed.
ICYDK, Mikee and Paul ended their four-year relationship in April 2025, saying they were both "still too young." Recently, in an exclusive interview with PEP.ph, Mikee shared that she unexpectedly crossed paths with Paul again.
"Nangyari lang kasi nagkita kami sa bachelor's [party] ng best friend ko. He's the best man, and I was best woman… Nagkita kami out of town. Naturally, first time namin nagkita uli after the breakup, we talked," she shared.
Mikee said their conversation was peaceful and simple, mostly catching up on where they are in life now. "Parang usap na lang na, 'Nandito na ako, okay na. Ikaw, kumusta ka?'"
She added, "Mayroong kumustahan and we wish each other well… Ako, okay na ako, na-feel ko naman sa kanya na okay naman."
But according to Mikee, that conversation was more of a "confirmation of closure." She explained, "Hindi siya closure-closure na usap. I think I got the closure even before nung usap na yun."
ICYMI, during her guesting on Fast Talk With Boy Abunda alongside Heaven Peralejo in May 2026, Mikee opened up about another conversation she had with Paul that gave her the clarity she had been looking for after their breakup.
"Masakit pa rin, pero yung usap namin na 'to compared to our breakup last year is so much better. Like, I found myself saying to him dito sa usap na 'to na parang, 'ito yung gusto kong usap last year.' Sabi ko sa kanya nun, ito yung kinailangan kong closure last year," she told Boy Abunda.
She also agreed with the host that part of what made the conversation different was that she was already in a better place emotionally, allowing them to talk without things becoming messy.
In that same interview, Mikee gave special appreciation to Heaven, who became a huge part of her moving-on journey. In what felt like a true girlhood moment, the two actresses found themselves going through heartbreak around the same time, eventually becoming each other's emotional support system and fav side-quest buddy.
Aside from pouring her energy into friendships these days, Mikee has also been busy with work. Last June, she made her hosting debut at the Miss Manila 2026 coronation night held at the Metropolitan Theater. She's also currently promoting her newest film, Saving, Cherry, which stars Barbie Forteza, Khalil Ramos, and several other notable actors.
She's not completely closing herself off to love, but right now, she's focused on strengthening her relationship with herself. "Totoo 'yung mga sinasabi ng tao, when you're single, you have more time to love yourself and I hope anyone in a relationship and my plan also when I get back into one, 'di magbago 'yung part na 'yon. Kaya habang single pa, pina-practice ko na siya," she shared in Chika Minute.
Mikee also revealed that she's currently not dating anyone, though she's open to putting herself out there from time to time. "Minsan nag-i-start na ako uli, pero dating, wala pa. Lumalabas-labas lang ako na ako," she told PEP.ph.
"Darating naman yun pag time na, pero okay pa ako, honestly. Nag-e-enjoy ako," the actress added. And if you ask us, that's exactly the kind of post-breakup update we love to hear. ❤️🩹
We're happy for you, Mikee!
