What does it *mean*, exactly?
The crown represents "the achievement of one's mind over body as a Filipina. It will be a symbol of triumph over one's journey of trials, hard work, and perseverance in obtaining one's dream. A dream that has become a reality that would inhabit her mind, heart, and spirit."
Miss Univers Philippines adds that the leaves on the crown symbolize women who seek success, the diamonds "luster like smiles that sparkle the lives of people that she encounters," and the yellow pearls express "creativity, intelligence, optimism, and fear of God." Finally, the Sapphire, Ruby, and Topaz gems "represent the flag of every proud Filipina!"
Who created it?
According to Miss Universe Philippines, the crown was created by the Villarica family, owners of the Villarica Pawnshop chain based in Meycauayan, Bulacan. And guess what? The business, which was founded by Paz Resureccion Villarica, employs an all-female staff.
Finally, how much does it really cost?
According to pageant mentor and vlogger Pageantry Norms, the crown has an estimated value of $100,000 (almost P5 million). WOW. Some fans are claiming that it could even cost more than that!
