It's offish: this year's Miss Universe Philippines is Rabiya Mateo from Iloilo City! According to Aces & Queens, Rabiya is a physical therapist by profession and she graduated cum laude from Iloilo Doctors' College.

Over 40 beauty queens competed for the title and the brand-new Filipina crown (which reportedly costs P5 million) during the Grand Finale which was aired today. The runners-up are: Ysabella Roxas Ysmael from Parañaque, Michelle Gumabao from Quezon City, Pauline Cucharo Amelinckx from Bohol, and Billie Hakenson from Cavite.
This year's Grand Finale was filmed at the Baguio Country Club and former Miss Universe Philippines Gazini Ganados was present to crown her successor. A replay telecast of the event will be aired on GMA-7 at 10:30 p.m. According to host KC Montero, they filmed "five different endings involving numerous candidates" for the pre-recorded event!

In December 2019, the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) announced that the Philippine candidate to the Miss Universe pageant will be selected by a brand-new panel of experts under the Miss Universe Philippines Organization led by Shamcey Supsup, instead of Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. (BPCI).
