In an interview on Tonight With Boy Abunda, the host brought up the hot topic involving detractors of the ongoing friendship between Kapuso star Maine Mendoza and the Kapamilya actor.
Ria has this to say: “At the end of the day, I keep saying 'It’s their lives.' I mean I get that we're public figures but let us own our lives naman, 'di ba, especially with him. My God! A lot of people sinasabi na his successes now have to do with her. I’m like, that’s so unfair! He’s worked so hard to get where he is, and to discredit his work, wow ha! Not fair at all!”
ICYMI, the Atayde siblings have been called “users” by online bashers, claiming that their recent fame is a result of Arjo’s name being linked to Maine of the 2015 Aldub fame.

He was named the 2016 Best Drama Supporting Actor for his role in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, 2014 Best Single Performance by an Actor in Maalaala Mo Kaya: "Dos Por Dos," 2013 Best Drama Supporting Actor for his work in Dugong Buhay, and 2012 Best New Male TV Personality for Maalaala Mo Kaya: "Bangka."
