Weddings are supposedly one of the happiest moments one could ever experience in their lifetime. For Robi Domingo, his wedding became a bittersweet one.
Robi was undoubtedly the most cheerful groom after tying the knot with the love of his life, Maiqui Pineda. They've waited so long for their union to happen—Maiqui even powered through her disease for their wedding.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Robi shared a sad story about their wedding. Amid the cheerful greetings and wide smiles of everyone, his family kept a piece of sad news from the couple: Robi's grandmother passed away on the same day of their wedding.
"Bittersweet. January 6 was the happiest day of my life," the TV personality began in his post. "My heart was filled with immense gratitude -from preps in the morning, to the ceremony, to the reception which lasted until dawn."
Robi revealed that he found that his family kept the news from Maiqui and him so they could solely focus on their once-in-a-lifetime wedding ceremony. "As I was about to leave the place, my mom was sobbing as she tried to tell me that my Lola passed away that same morning. Apparently, my family didn't tell us so that our focus was our magical day," he wrote.
He continued in his post by remembering his grandmother, whom he fondly addressed as "Ina." "[She] took care of me especially when I was a toddler. I loved how she made her ube halaya and Leche flan sa llanera. Rest in peace, ina. Please look after us together with ama. Thank you, and we love you," Robi said.
Robi and Maiqui started dating in 2018, and they tied the knot in a heartwarming ceremony in Pulilan, Bulacan on January 6, 2024.
