Like Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, Selena Gomez stopped for a quick Met Gala photo and chat session with Brandon Stanton, the man behind the wildly popular Humans of New York. In her blurb, Selena spoke about being famous and the reality of how delicate that world can be. "I feel like I'm just starting, but I think I'd be fine if it all went away," she said, crediting her mom Mandy Teefey for giving her this perspective on life in the spotlight. "From the moment I started singing, she always reminded me that all of this was a privilege, and could be taken at any moment." According to Selena, she keeps grounded by remaining loyal to her friends and her faith.
Selena's Met Gala this year was doubly special, as it marked her first-ever red carpet appearance as a couple with boyfriend Abel Tesfaye, aka The Weeknd. Upon their arrival, Abelena kept close, snuck in a few kisses, and reportedly an "I love you" in between photos.
Serena Williams, her baby bump, and her fiancé Alexis Ohanian were also featured on the Met Gala edition of HONY. "She has the biggest heart. Everyone sees her success, but all of that is layered on the size of her heart," Alexis said.
HONY also interviewed Stephen Colbert and his wife Evelyn, and Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy.
