Sophia Laforteza Is Sitting Out KATSEYE's European Tour Stops—Here's What She Told Fans

Heads up, EYEKONS! KATSEYE's group leader and Filipina member Sophia Laforteza is sitting out the group's European stops for their WildWorld Tour, scheduled from September 1 to 17.

The news was shared by the girl group's entertainment company and handlers, HYBE and Geffen Records, on the online platform Weverse on August 30. Asking fans for their understanding, the companies wrote, "Sophia is focusing on her well-being, and the company remains fully committed to providing her with all the support and resources needed."

The world tour is set to kick off this September in Dublin, Ireland, with the rest of the currently active members—Daniela, Yoonchae, Lara, and Megan—expected to perform.

While Sophia is taking a temporary break from the group's activities, she's also making sure fans know that she hopes to return once she's had enough time to recover and rest. On August 31, just a day after the announcement, Sophia shared a quick message with her fans on her Instagram Story.

"I can't express enough how much I want to participate in this tour and perform for you all. I have to remind myself every day that our health and mental well-being should always be prioritized," she wrote.

She also shared that she's using this time to focus on her recovery and is getting the help she needs. "I've been in ongoing treatment and doing everything I can to stay healthy, occupied, and happy," she added.

Sophia's mom, Carla Guevara-Laforteza, also recently shared that her daughter has been getting back into the hobbies that keep her happy and engaged, including baking, painting, and visiting Disneyland, a.k.a. her "happy place"!

It's clear that the group and the people around them are taking their health and well-being seriously, especially as they prepare for the major performances ahead. Most recently, KATSEYE had to skip their performance at Daisy Chain Fields Festival, the music festival founded by Olivia Rodrigo, in California on August 29 after Megan sprained her ankle during rehearsals and needed time to rest and recover.

As of writing, both Sophia and Manon Bannerman are on hiatus from KATSEYE activities, with Manon on an indefinite temporary hiatus since February 2026. And while Sophia will be sitting out the European leg until mid-September, the WildWorld Tour has more stops lined up through November.
