Remember when "Despacito" came out and the world momentarily forgot that other songs existed? Well, in a surprising turn of events, Ed Sheeran's "Shape Of You" was the most streamed track of 2017, according to Spotify. Even though Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee didn't land the top spot, both versions of "Despacito" made it to the top 5: 

  • “Shape of You,” Ed Sheeran
  • “Despacito (Remix),” Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber
  • “Despacito,” Luis Fonsi feat. Daddy Yankee
  • “Something Just Like This,” The Chainsmokers feat. Coldplay
  • “I’m the One,” DJ Khaled, Justin Bieber, Chance the Rapper, Quavo, Lil Wayne

Winning points for nice guys everywhere, Ed Sheeran isn't just Spotify's top male artist, but the top artist overall.
